In preparation for organizing the 44th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, the Security Committee for the Fair held its coordinating meeting to discuss security and safety plans, evacuation procedures, and measures to deal with emergency situations during the event, which will be held from November 5th to 16th at the Sharjah Expo Center. The Sharjah Book Authority, in cooperation with the Sharjah Police General Command, the Sharjah Civil Defense, the 'Sand' volunteer team, the Representative Office of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, and the National Ambulance Service, presented the mechanisms of joint coordination among the various participating bodies during the meeting. Members of the Security Committee discussed plans for task distribution and defining the roles of participating teams in emergency situations, in addition to reviewing operational procedures for evacuation and assembly points. The Security Committee conducted a practical exercise to simulate an evacuation at the Sharjah Expo Center headquarters, with the aim of ensuring the readiness of the security and safety teams and their ability to respond quickly and coordinated in emergency situations.
