Sharjah Animation Conference Opens New Horizons for Cooperation

The Sharjah Animation Conference has opened new horizons for cooperation between publishers and global animation studios. At a special pavilion during the 15th Publishers Conference, which brought together 1300 publishers from 116 countries, its vision for transforming books into visual content and facilitating the buying and selling of rights between publishers and production companies was presented.

The conference pavilion offered a comprehensive interactive experience that combined knowledge and technology, showcasing practical tools that integrate stories into new media, including tablets and virtual reality technologies, in partnership with the conference's strategic partner, "Wacom", the leading company in manufacturing devices for illustrators and animators.

VRwareEdu's Story Builder application provided an interactive vision for the future of storytelling, offering users the opportunity to create and experience their own digital comic books by integrating images, adding stickers and speech bubbles, and recording their own voices.

The conference pavilion also hosted a Japanese delegation comprising publishers and representatives of animation studios to meet with their Arab and international counterparts, aiming to exchange experiences and enhance international cooperation in the field of adapting books into animation projects.

Khawla Al-Majini, Executive Director of the Sharjah Animation Conference, stated: "We witnessed a remarkable interaction from international and Arab publishers during our participation, who showed a growing interest in learning about the mechanisms of transforming their books into animated works. This direct dialogue has opened new horizons for practical cooperation between the publishing industry and the visual content industry."

She added: "This influx confirms the growing global awareness of the importance of employing creative technologies in developing the printed book and expanding its audience, and at the same time reflects the role that Sharjah plays as a hub that brings together various creative sectors and supports talents in building a sustainable creative economy."

This participation is an extension of the success of the 2025 Sharjah Animation Conference, which attracted over 5000 participants and featured a comprehensive program presented by more than 74 international experts from various fields of visual arts and the content industry.
