The Sharjah International Book Fair hosted a unique local theatrical experience titled 'A Crime in the Majlis,' which blended a police thriller with social drama in an interactive show that transformed the audience from mere spectators into active participants in the investigation and unraveling of the crime.
The work drew its atmosphere from the Emirati Majlis, as a space for dialogue, doubt, and inquiry. The script was written by Bhoomika Gagada, directed by Tarun Shyam, and translated into Arabic by Hour Bakkash, with editorial review by Fatima Jerman. The lead roles were performed by a select cast from the 'Street Studio' theater troupe.
The cast included Habiba Abdulmohsen, Maryam Banna, Yazeen Alkazemi, Hour Al Mamizi, Laila Al Mokhtar, Akshay Kumar, Leopold Lesig, Omar Matar, Shadi Wasif, and others. They succeeded in creating a lively interaction with the audience, who experienced the event moment by moment.
