Mariam Misiak and Lars Harmse will lead a workshop on smart magazine making, covering the experience of designing editorial layouts using a variety of printing materials and design tools. Parallel to these activities, the exhibition will feature the launch of several new publications, including the seventh edition of the book 'Corniche', dedicated to comics, which brings together the works of artists from within the country and abroad. A special discussion session will also be held to launch the book by Palestia Akkad 'Eyes of Gaza: Chronicles of Resilience' with the participation of researcher Fares Shoumli. The Sharjah Arts Foundation is organizing the event, which will take place from December 12 to 14. The exhibition will see the participation of a wide range of artists, book makers, independent publishers, and cultural producers who are developing the horizons of media and offering new insights into the production of art prints. This year's exhibition brings together artists, graphic designers, and printing studios showcasing publications that represent various cultural environments, in addition to dedicating sections to display the works of artists residing in the UAE and selected titles recommended by the foundation. This edition features a comprehensive program of activities and workshops that allow the public to experience multiple printing techniques and interact with contemporary art content. The 'Reading Room' event, in cooperation with 'Bottletree Griot', offers the opportunity to browse a collection of art books that reflect the practices of artists from Africa, Asia, and the diaspora, while the self-service postcard-making station allows visitors to produce handcrafted cards inspired by the traditional architecture of the Abid Al Shamsi House. Additionally, artist Diego Mendoza (Studio Vl Special) will hold a workshop on risography and color separation, enabling participants to prepare precise digital files and produce two-color prints. Meanwhile, Roman Dinger (Graf Workshop) will conduct a workshop on the fundamentals of risography and the use of stencils to create multi-layered works.
