Today, the second edition of the Sharjah Literature Festival kicks off at City University Square. This festival offers a comprehensive experience that brings together intellectual, creative, and entertainment elements to suit all visitors, young and old. Organized by the Emirates Publishers Association and the Sharjah Book Authority under the slogan 'A Community Woven by Stories,' the festival will continue until the 11th of the month. It features cultural, artistic, and entertainment events that illuminate the literary and creative scene of the UAE and foster a fertile cultural environment where literature becomes a bridge connecting the past, present, and future aspirations. Moreover, the festival, through its program, supports publishers and creative entrepreneurs, aiming to empower them to showcase their works to a broad audience, which contributes to the development of creative industries in the United Arab Emirates. Over its seven days, the festival will also host a book fair with the participation of 42 Emirati publishing houses, presenting a collection of local publications catering to various age groups. The Sharjah Literature Festival also includes shops for displaying and selling handmade crafts that blend modern aesthetics with Emirati artisanal heritage.
