In Sharjah, a cultural festival dedicated to the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish has concluded. The exhibition «The Dice Player,» which ran from November 12, 2025, attracted over 25,000 visitors from various nationalities. This success demonstrates the ability of Arab culture to draw a wide audience when presented with a contemporary and open vision. According to the organizers, the exhibition reflected the public's trust in cultural initiatives led by Sharjah and the «House of Wisdom.» Mahmoud Darwish holds a unique place in the cultural consciousness of the Arab and global communities, and his poetry continues to build bridges of dialogue between cultures. Following the exhibition, the «House of Wisdom» signed an agreement with the Palestinian Museum, the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center, and the Barjeel Arts Foundation. The agreement aims to transform the exhibition into a traveling project, «The Great Wanderer,» that will tour the world. This will create an unprecedented opportunity to enhance the presence of Mahmoud Darwish's literary and human legacy in diverse cultural spaces and solidify his status as one of the most prominent voices that shaped Arab cultural consciousness and touched the human soul. Mroueh Al-Atrooshi, Executive Director of the «House of Wisdom» and chief curator of the exhibition, stated: «The 'Dice Player' exhibition embodied Sharjah's vision of celebrating icons of Arab culture and re-presenting their creative legacy to new generations. We succeeded in transforming this celebration into an extended cultural project that will spread from Sharjah to the rest of the world».
