Hishia Shardja has completed its participation in the international book exhibition in Riyadh and Amman, presenting various publications, including works by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad al-Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and ruler of Sharjah. Various events organized by Hishia over the year were also showcased, including the Sharjah International Book Fair and the Sharjah Children's Book Festival, as well as conferences of publishers and libraries aimed at developing the publishing industry in the region.
As part of its participation in the exhibitions, Hishia held a series of meetings with publishers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and other countries, as well as with literary agents from around the world, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of publishing and creative industries.
Hishia also conducted bilateral meetings with the organizers of the international book fair in Riyadh to coordinate the participation of the Big Bad Wolf exhibition, the most popular book fair with significant discounts worldwide, in collaboration with the Big Bad Wolf company, which is based in Jeddah and in Eastern Province in Dakhra.
In the framework of the efforts to develop the publishing industry in the Arab Peninsula, Hishia presented to publishers from Saudi Arabia the global initiative Lightingsource in Sharjah, leading a platform for print-on-demand and the distribution of books. This partnership between Hishia and Ingrum Content Group allows publishers in the Arab world to distribute their books in more than 40,000 sales points and libraries worldwide, opening new and wide opportunities for promoting their works and reaching a broader audience.
The director of Hishia's office for books in the Eastern region, Fadel Khussein Bouzeim, emphasized that participation in Arab and international exhibitions represents a part of the organization's strategy to strengthen cultural exchange and cooperation with cultural institutions and publishers worldwide. He noted that through such events, Hishia strives to create new initiatives and projects aimed at addressing the challenges faced by writers and publishers in the Arab world, with the goal of enhancing the level and quality of literary and cultural production, strengthening innovation, and developing creative industries, as well as establishing favorable conditions for their growth and development in the region.
