Omani Students Visit Sharjah Calligraphy Forum

During the 11th Sharjah Calligraphy Forum, Omani students explored Arabic calligraphy art and its significance in Islamic culture. They engaged with artworks showcasing traditional and innovative styles, enhancing their artistic appreciation.

Within the framework of the 11th Forum on Calligraphy in Sharjah, called "Tractatus", the Calligraphy Square - Center for Arabic Calligraphy and Ornamentation in Sharjah, received a visit two days ago from a delegation of students from Oman. The delegation's visit to the Forum, organized by the Department of Culture of Sharjah, was aimed at familiarizing with visual arts connected with Arabic calligraphy, as well as visiting exhibitions accompanying the event.

The manager of the Forum's exhibition, Fatima Zarauni, accompanied the delegation during their tour and provided detailed explanations about the exhibits, emphasizing the importance of Islamic and calligraphic art in expressing Arab and Islamic culture. She highlighted the role of the Forum in supporting young artists and providing them with platforms for creative self-expression.

Representing the Unified Society of Arabic Calligraphy and Ornamentation, OAA's Nasser Ahmed Alyasi explained to the delegation about the exhibition called "In Love with OAA", utilizing artistic methods and techniques that combine classical script and innovative decorations, adding beauty to it. The students reviewed the exhibition and were introduced to the pieces that envelop calligraphy and Arabic calligraphy.

The students expressed joy regarding their visit and highlighted its importance for the development of their artistic taste and deepening knowledge about the history and heritage of Arabic calligraphy.
