Sharjah Museums Authority Launches 'Layali Ramadan' Event

The Sharjah Museums Authority has announced the launch of the third edition of its annual 'Layali Ramadan' event at the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, running from tomorrow until March 1. Entry to the museum will be free throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The event, designed to attract families and community members, combines heritage and cultural activities, live performances, and interactive family experiences. This highlights the role of museums as spaces for intellectual enrichment, reflection, and community connection during the sacred month. This year's edition carries the theme 'Gardens and Stories,' affirming the Sharjah Museums Authority's ongoing commitment to enhancing the museum's community presence and solidifying its status as a dynamic cultural destination that blends education and entertainment. It offers rich experiences suitable for all community members, presenting culture in an interactive style. 'Layali Ramadan' aligns with the spiritual ambiance of Ramadan through a diverse program of cultural, educational, and recreational activities, including interactive workshops, cultural and educational games, theatrical performances, Ramadan competitions, dedicated family sessions, and a special food corner. The event also includes guided tours of the temporary exhibition 'Andalusian Cultural Landscapes,' enriching the visitor experience and strengthening their connection to the museum's collections and narratives. The exhibition features over 60 artworks and historical pieces, some displayed for the first time in Sharjah, embodying the agricultural and cultural heritage of Al-Andalus within a visual narrative that blends nature's aesthetics with the depth of the human experience.
