Between politics, diplomacy, culture, and media, the late Terim Omran carved out a distinguished career marked by numerous achievements. He was known for his strong personality, national consciousness, and deep devotion to his homeland, and his contributions continued until his passing on May 16, 2002. Terim Omran was born in Sharjah in 1942. He received his early education at Al-Qasimiah School and moved to Kuwait for his secondary education at Al-Shuwaikh School before returning to complete his studies at Al-Qasimiah School. He pursued his higher education in the Arab Republic of Egypt, enrolling in the Faculty of Arts at Cairo University.After graduating, he began his professional career at Al-Urouba High School and later became the principal of Al-Maarif School in Sharjah. From his youth, Omran was passionate about public service, participating in the founding of student unions during his university years in Cairo and being an active member of numerous Arab conferences and forums.He also held several positions, including Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Committee for Arab Solidarity, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Center for Arab Unity Studies. In 1976, he headed the UAE's delegation to the Arab League, becoming the country's first representative there. It is noted that he never missed any of its sessions. Together, they founded Al Khaleej Press and Publishing in 1970, which launched the weekly magazine Ash-Shorouq in June 1970 and the newspaper Al Khaleej in October 1970. In 1980, as the institution grew and its publications multiplied, Omran dedicated himself fully to journalism and media work.
