10th Sharjah International Cycling Tour Kicks Off

The 10th Sharjah International Cycling Tour commenced with the first stage covering 132.91 km, featuring local youth and disabled races, drawing 174 cyclists from 23 countries.

Within the framework of the international velodrome competition, the second stage "Middle Region" takes place. The race started this morning from the starting point - the farm in Milyakh and will end at the university in Zeide. The third stage "Science and Culture" includes competitions for individuals with limited abilities "Against the Clock" for participants in individual categories and special bicycles, as well as for youth. The race will begin tomorrow and will cover a distance of 11.16 km, starting and finishing at the American University in Shardzhe on campus.

The fourth stage "Eastern Region" will begin on Monday at a distance of 132.32 km, starting at Lake Khafari in Kalba and ending at the holiday area in Khorkhakan. The last fifth stage named "Past and Future" will take place on Tuesday.

Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman al-Kasim, head of the higher executive office, yesterday launched the tenth annual International Velo-Tour of Shardzhe. The first stage - "Pre-eminence and Creativity" will cover 132.91 km, starting at Jaza in Shardzhe and ending at the suspended garden in Kalbaa.

Subsequently, the organizers showcased performances by the Shardzhe sports club in marine sports. After this, the head of the higher executive office started the race.

The total distance of the velodrome consists of five stages, including local competitions for youth, a race for individuals with disabilities, as well as the participation of professionals. Competitions will continue until the future Tuesday and will include 174 participants from 23 countries: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, Portugal, Thailand, China, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritius, Rwanda. The race covering a distance of 121.87 km starts from an ethnographic village in Al-Hamriya and finishes in the Jada area in Shardzhe.
