The Emirates Rapid Chess Championship concluded with notable performances from players in various categories, showcasing intense competition among 240 participants across Emirati clubs.


Emirates Rapid Chess Championship Concludes

The Championship of the UAE in rapid chess among open categories, women, and youth up to 16 years concluded on the last Sunday, organized by the UAE Chess Federation at the Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club.

In the youth category up to 16 years, Rashid Abu Bakr from the Abu-Dhabi Chess Club and Intellectual Games took first place with 6.5 points, ahead of Shakir Issy Khalifa from the Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club, who claimed second place with 6 points, while Hamidan Zaabi from the Abu-Dhabi Chess Club took third.

In the girls' category up to 16 years, Anud Ali continued to showcase excellent results, winning with 6.5 points, followed by her sister Ahud Ali, who placed second with 6 points, and third place went to Ravda Alafifi from the Abu-Dhabi Chess Club in chess and intellectual games.

In the open category, Ammar Sadrani from the Fujairah Club took first place, scoring 6.5 points from 7 rounds, while Imran Al-Husni from the Abu-Dhabi Chess Club in chess and intellectual games secured second place with 5.5 points, tying with Mohamed Saeed Al-Ileili from the Fujairah Club, who came in third.

The tournament featured 240 players from various clubs in the country, and the strongest finished with the overall leadership of the Fujairah Club, Abu-Dhabi, and girls from Sharjah.
