Ali Thani, a member of the Sharjah Football Club and chairman of the technical committee, stated that some details have changed for the better regarding the club's profile in the current sports season 2024-2025. He noted that in the previous season, the team's defensive line suffered from the absence of Shakhan Abdalrahman due to injury. The return of this player this season has played a positive role in the national team lineup, which has appeared five times in the Adnoc Professional League championship this season.
"The players of Sharjah this season are the same as last season, but some changes have been made to the team's profile, while still noting the important role of the team coach Abdulaiziz Mohammed, as well as the entire administrative system and the leadership of the club," said Ali Thani to the 'Emirates Today' newspaper.
Sharjah expects important matches in the championship, where the team will meet Al-Khaleej in the 15th round, as well as in the AFC Champions League - a match against Al-Hussein Arbid from Jordan. In addition, the team will play next month against Al-Jazira in the quarterfinals of the President's Cup, as well as with Shabab Al-Ahli in the quarterfinals of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup.
Ali Thani pointed out that the second round of the championship has just begun, and reiterated that the completion of the winter transfer window will bring new changes to the team rosters, which makes the competition even tougher.
According to statistics, Sharjah did not concede a goal in the eighth round of the Adnoc Professional League, where the team defeated Nasr three goals to none. Sharjah has defended its goal in seven consecutive matches, not conceding a single goal. During this time the team conceded nine goals. The last time Sharjah's goal was breached was in the seventh round against Bani Yas, which ended with a victory for Sharjah 4-1.
The Sharjah team is the most conceding in the league with a total of five conceded goals, while scoring 27 goals in 14 matches. This statistic underlines the strength of the Sharjah national team, led by the quartet David Petrovich, Yumat Tymycho, Shakhan Abdalrahman, and Khalid Ednkhani, as well as experienced goalkeeper Adel Al-Husni.
