Sharjah coach Abdel Majid Namers took responsibility for the heavy 4-1 defeat against Al Ain in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Professional Cup. Namers stated in the post-match press conference that his team was missing nine players at once due to some being called up to the national team and others being injured. He confirmed that these conditions clearly affected the team's performance. "The group that played did what they could, and I can't blame any player; they made a huge effort despite the circumstances," Namers added. The coach explained that the team entered the match with a clear plan to avoid conceding early goals to keep their hopes of a comeback alive, especially after the 1-3 loss in the first leg. However, Al Ain effectively used the opportunities and scored four goals, while Sharjah missed chances and scored only one. Namers pointed out that the defeat was a natural result of the match's dynamics and the circumstances of the absences, adding that the team will work on correcting mistakes and prepare for what's ahead in the season.
