8th Arab Women's Clubs Games to be held in Sharjah

The 8th edition of the Arab Women's Clubs Games will be held in Sharjah from February 2 to 10, under the patronage of the wife of the ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, with wide participation from Arab clubs and female athletes. The new edition will feature the addition of two new sports: Taekwondo with an international classification (G1) and beach rowing for the first time, alongside the previously approved sports. This step reflects the development of the tournament and the expansion of the base for the participation of Arab women. Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi confirmed that the tournament has become a leading model for empowering Arab women in sports, and a platform for developing talents and enhancing professionalism, noting that Sharjah has provided all the necessary regulatory and logistical requirements to ensure the success of the event. In the context of preparations, a delegation from the Association of National Olympic Committees of the Arab States, led by Sheikha Hayya bint Hussein Al Khalifa, inspected training and competition facilities in various cities and areas of Sharjah, praising the level of readiness and advanced infrastructure. Sheikha Hayya bint Hussein Al Khalifa stated that the upcoming edition represents a new chapter in Arab excellence, reflecting Sharjah's vision of linking sports, culture, and development. Meanwhile, Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Enizi pointed out that the tournament has become an Arab platform that enhances the status of women's sports within its civilizational and humanitarian framework. Hanan Mohammed Al Mahmoud clarified that Sharjah's support for women's sports comes as part of a strategic approach to investing in human beings and building capacities, while Mouna Al Shamsi confirmed that the tournament's distinction is renewed in every edition through the development of programs and services, offering a comprehensive experience for the female athletes and participating delegations. The Arab Women's Clubs Games is the largest gathering for women's sports in the Arab world, having witnessed a remarkable expansion in the number of participants and teams in past editions.
