The Sharjah International Lifesaving Championship is organized by the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club in cooperation with Al Sharqiya Channel from Kalba. The event is part of the third edition of the Khorfakkan Marine Festival, the first of its kind in the United Arab Emirates, held under the umbrella of the International Lifesaving Federation (ILS). The championship aims to prepare a capable workforce to participate in regional and international competitions. This effort is part of a broader initiative to establish an official and professional environment for lifesaving sports, which contributes to enhancing the safety and rescue system along the UAE's coastlines, as well as discovering and nurturing national talents to represent the UAE regionally and internationally.
