Eighth Arab Women's Sports Games Kicks Off in Sharjah

Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the eighth Arab Women's Sports Games will be held in Sharjah from February 2-12. 63 teams from 16 Arab countries will compete in 9 sports, including two new additions: Taekwondo and rowing.


Eighth Arab Women's Sports Games Kicks Off in Sharjah

Under the patronage of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Family Supreme Council, the eighth edition of the Arab Women's Sports Games will kick off on February 2nd and run until February 12th. The event will see 63 women's sports teams from 16 Arab countries competing in 9 individual and team sports, including basketball, volleyball, table tennis, fencing, athletics, archery, and shooting. This year, two new sports have been added to the lineup: Taekwondo (with an international G1 classification) and rowing. Sixteen Arab nations are participating in this eighth edition: Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Bahrain, Tunisia, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Somalia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, and others.
