On Friday, Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler, launched the eleventh edition of the Sharjah International Cycling Tour in its first stage. The race started from Al Science Island in the city of Sharjah and finished at the Wheat Farm in Mleiha, covering a distance of 129.6 km. The opening ceremony began with performances by the Sharjah Marine Sports Club and folkloric shows, after which the Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler gave the starting signal. The stage was named 'Pride and Generosity', symbolizing the national significance of Al Science Island and the Wheat Farm, which embodies the emirate's efforts to achieve food security. The total race distance is divided into 5 stages and includes a local youth cycling tour.
