Morais: "We think about the future, not points"

Sharjah coach Jose Morais confirmed that he is more focused on building the team for the future than on the number of points in the league, following the "King's" 4-1 victory over Dibba in their postponed 16th-round match.

Regarding giving young players the chance to play, such as Sultan Al-Saadi, the Sharjah coach said he was keen on giving Al-Saadi and the younger players an opportunity to join the team. "What I am thinking is that we must prepare for the future in a different way, and that is what we are trying to do," he said.

Sharjah jumped to eighth place in the league standings with 20 points, moving closer to the safe zone.

The Sharjah coach added: "The team appeared more cohesive during the Dibba match, with a different level of discipline in terms of organization, and the team also showed the ability to score four goals that we needed. We had not experienced such a moment until today, and it was also important to see that."

He explained: "Every match the team plays is a different story," noting that he was happy that the team played well, especially in the first half when they were more cohesive, emphasizing that the team needed this win.

Commenting on Sharjah's win after a series of negative results, Morais said: "I see that our fans have gotten the team's fifth win in the league since I took over the coaching duties, and they are very happy, and I am happy about that too."

Regarding the absence of the duo Caio Lucas and Luan Pereira from the team squad in the last match against Dibba, he said: "Caio and Luan are out of the squad due to physical issues, and that is the reason for their absence from the Dibba match. We hope to see if they recover for the next match."
