Al-Bataih manager Ahmed Al-Yasi discussed the rise of futsal in the UAE, future plans, and his decision to retire from sports after winning 14 titles.

Manager of the Al-Bataih futsal team, Ahmed Al-Yasi, confirmed that the technical level of futsal competitions has witnessed significant development compared to past seasons, attributing this to the support of the Football Association and the Sharjah Sports Council, in addition to the efforts of club administrations and the increasing public attendance. Al-Yasi stated in an interview with «Al Ittihad»: «Our team's recent victory in the UAE Cup has a special taste due to the importance of the tournament, and I hope we can win the league title by the end of the season to achieve the double». He explained that futsal in the country is on the path of development but still needs more support, especially at the junior levels, by organizing youth and junior championships to help discover talents and ensure technical and administrative sustainability. Al-Yasi also revealed his decision to end his administrative career at the end of the current season after a long journey during which he achieved 14 titles with Al-Bataih, saying: «I decided to end my administrative journey after a successful trip where we won five UAE Cups, four league titles, two Super Cups, two Federation Cups, and the Khorfakhan International Tournament». Al-Yasi spoke about his beginnings in administrative work, saying: «I started my journey with the team of the Sharjah Planning Department due to my job, then moved to Al-Sharjah Club before continuing my journey with Al-Bataih».
