The United Arab Emirates has announced the organization of the 8th National Championship for Mixed Martial Arts. The event will be held on April 18 and 19 at Mabada Arena in Zayed Sports City. The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation stated that it is finalizing all organizational and technical preparations for the championship's launch, which will see the participation of hundreds of players from various age groups, reflecting the great interest in developing this sport and promoting it nationwide. The preparations cover various organizational and technical aspects within a comprehensive approach aimed at providing a high-level competitive environment that allows for assessing the physical and mental readiness of athletes and enhancing competition sustainably. The championship will feature wide participation from hundreds of athletes across several age categories: Cubs D (10–11 years), Juniors C (12–13 years), Juniors B (14–15 years), Youth A (16–17 years), and Seniors (18 years and above), in line with the federation's approved competition pathway and contributing to fostering communication among different age groups within a comprehensive development system. Mohammed bin Delmooh Al Dhaheri, a board member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, emphasized that the significant attention this sport receives in the country reflects a strategic vision aimed at developing the capabilities of generations and honing their talents. He pointed out that the championship continues to achieve remarkable year-on-year growth in terms of the number of participants and the level of competition. He added that the growing popularity of mixed martial arts reflects an increasing awareness of their importance in building character, boosting self-confidence, and the ability to face challenges, affirming that supporting these championships is part of a broader vision to enhance the presence of the United Arab Emirates in the global martial arts scene.
