Data on the nationalities of investors indicated differences in market dynamics in the UAE. In general, investors from the Gulf countries were found to be more active in the markets compared to investors from other countries. They increased investment volumes by 14%, mainly due to rising interest in the stocks of private companies and bonds.
Investors from the UAE and Saudi Arabia displayed increased interest in technology companies, while investors from Bahrain and Kuwait preferred investing in the stocks of financial institutions. Conversely, investors from Qatar and Oman appeared to be more inclined to acquire shares in telecom companies.
It is also noted that investors from Egypt and India became more active in investing in stocks of private companies and telecommunications on the Dubai Exchange. Conversely, investors from Pakistan and Sri Lanka increased their positions in the stocks of construction companies and pharmaceutical enterprises.
Commenting on these data, the exchange representative noted that such diversity in investment preferences indicates the development of regional markets and ensures a broader selection of investment opportunities for investors.
