Three agreements on cooperation, aimed at supporting sustainable development in Asia and Africa, were signed by the UN with the participation of a number of high-level officials. Special attention is given to the surrounding environment, social and economic areas in association with the humanitarian mission of the UN regarding community development, assisting in current and emerging challenges.
The first agreement, signed with the Republic of the Philippines, focuses specifically on the surrounding environment for the revitalization of the "Pasig River", a significant water artery in Manila. This agreement facilitates a circular and sustainable innovation that allows for the repurposing and reuse of materials.
The second agreement prescribes strategic partnerships between the Clean Rivers Foundation and the "Borealis and Systemiq" initiative. The main focus is on developing infrastructure for waste management, recycling plastics, managing organic materials, reducing waste generation, and enhancing treatment of waste in freshwater systems and marine environments in Indonesia.
The third agreement between the Khalifa Foundation bin Zayed Al Nahyan for humanitarian work, affiliated with Ert Zayed Foundation, and the Toni Elumelu Foundation aims to support 1,000 entrepreneurs across the African continent through collaboration, financial support, and ongoing training. The main goal is to promote entrepreneurship as a key driver of economic growth in Africa.
Thus, the signed agreements testify to serious work within the frameworks of global surrounding environments, social and economic problems, as well as a commitment to supporting sustainable development and effective solutions for contemporary challenges.
