
A recent study conducted by "Emiratami Segodnya" at various retail points in the local market revealed that around 54 tea brands of different varieties are present on the shelves. According to the conducted survey, teas packaged in the UAE lead in local markets, with many of them sourced from different regions such as India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, as well as some European countries.
Specialists from various retail sectors stated that tea is one of the products that is consistently in demand year-round, with fluctuating temperatures during periods such as Ramadan and holidays. As a result of the study, it was found that there are various types of tea on the shelves: from black to green, as well as white, each with its own unique taste characteristics and properties, such as caffeine content.
In various retail points, one can find diverse aromatic teas, such as mint, jasmine, cinnamon, saffron, apple, lemon, ginger, fruit, and even Moroccan tea "Morkkan ti." One can also encounter tea blends, such as "Karkade tea," which is a blend of black tea with milk and spices, including hibiscus.
According to the results of the study, the most expensive is considered "organic tea," grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides, which is considered to be more beneficial. The price of different varieties of tea varies depending on the origin, packaging, and harvest date.
Employees from various retail points noted that tea has a stable demand year-round, with possible price increases during holiday periods, such as Ramadan and Arabic holidays. They also noted that the diversity of tea varieties in the market stimulates new brands to enter the local market.
