Air tickets for flights from UAE to Lebanon have significantly increased by 40-50% for the last bookings, made just a few hours before departure, after the ban on travel to Lebanon for citizens was lifted, as reported by tourist agencies.
Tourism managers confirmed that the decision to lift restrictions on travel was primarily indicated on reservations, as companies began to receive intensive requests, which led to a significant increase in ticket prices due to the surge in demand and the burden of booked flights in the coming days.
The general director of "Al Awadi Travels" Amin Al-Awadi noted that prices for airline tickets for reservations made just a few hours before departure have increased by 40%, pointing out that prices have notably risen in the first hours after the decision was made, especially on direct flights from UAE.
He noted that the increase in prices reflects a high demand for Lebanon, which may further raise ticket prices, and indicated a possible increase in available seats on aircraft to satisfy the expected sharp rise in demand.
The managing director of Dubai Link Dr. Khaitam Al-Haj Ali noted that prices for tickets to Lebanon have risen significantly, exceeding 50% for the last bookings, particularly for flights departing today or tomorrow.
He indicated that part of the passengers urgently booked tickets, which created pressure on prices, adding that "we expect prices to remain at a high level in the coming days and, possibly, increase even closer to the start of the holiday season."
