UAE Consumers Demand Regulation of Customer Satisfaction Surveys

Consumers in the United Arab Emirates have expressed dissatisfaction with frequent calls from companies conducting customer satisfaction surveys. Consumers report multiple calls at inconvenient times, including late at night and early in the morning, as well as lengthy surveys that distract them from work and personal affairs. In response, experts and company representatives explain that such surveys are conducted primarily in the interests of consumers to protect their rights and improve service quality. They also note that some call centers are located abroad, creating challenges due to time zone differences. In light of this, consumers and experts are calling for the regulation of such calls. Proposed measures include obtaining prior consumer consent, prohibiting calls during certain hours, the ability to block calls from specific companies, imposing fines on violators, and allowing for complaints. It is also suggested to replace calls with SMS, email, or social media messages, allowing consumers to respond at their convenience.
