Central Bank of UAE Commemorates AI University's Anniversary with Gold and Silver Coins

The Central Bank of the UAE has issued gold and silver coins to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence. The issue marks the university's achievements in education and innovation since its first student intake in 2020. A total of 10 gold and 500 silver coins were minted.

The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates has issued commemorative coins made of gold and silver to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence. The issue is also timed to the admission of the first cohort of students in 2020, as a sign of recognition of the university's outstanding achievements over the years of its existence. The obverse of the gold coin features an image of the university's Knowledge Center building, along with the years 2020 and 2025, symbolizing the five-year history. The commemorative coins were presented to the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and will not be available for sale by either the Central Bank or the university. On this occasion, Saif Hamid Al Zaabi, Assistant Governor of the Central Bank for Banking Operations and Support Services, stated: "The issuance of this commemorative coin affirms the Central Bank of the UAE's commitment to highlighting national initiatives in the field of education and recognizing the leading role of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence since its inception as an advanced model of specialized academic institutions, which aligns with the UAE's vision of building a knowledge-based economy and fostering innovation." Surrounding this design in both Arabic and English is the name "Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence" along with its official logo. As we celebrate the fifth anniversary of the admission of the first cohort of students, we take pride in the university's role as an integral part of the UAE's success in establishing artificial intelligence at the heart of the national agenda. 10 gold and 500 silver coins, each weighing 50 grams, were issued. The issuance of these coins coincides with the celebrations of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence's fifth anniversary, embodying its pioneering journey in the artificial intelligence, science, and humanities ecosystem, and enhancing the UAE's position as a leading global destination for innovation and advanced technology. It is an honor for us to celebrate our path to establishing the university's global standing in artificial intelligence research and higher education through a time-honored tradition that embodies the connection between the UAE's heritage and the prospects of future technology." In turn, Eric Xing, President of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and University Professor, stated: "The issuance of commemorative coins by the Central Bank of the UAE reflects the role of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in the country's strategic development." The reverse side of the coin features the emblem of the UAE, surrounded by the name "Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates" in Arabic and English. The obverse of the silver coin features a design that highlights the university's Knowledge Center building, along with the years 2020 and 2025, interspersed with intricate geometric patterns. The reverse side bears the face value of "50 dirhams", surrounded by the phrase "Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates" in Arabic and English. The design also bears the phrase "Power from Knowledge to Serve" in English, reflecting the university's mission and its cognitive role, surrounded by the name "Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence" in Arabic and English and the university's logo.
