Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates — Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEAD) and Burkat Group, a specialist in fresh food and juice production in the UAE, today announced the start of construction on a project to develop a specialized facility for manufacturing baby food in KEAD, through a joint venture between Burkat Group and "Pure Baby Food Industries". The project involves developing the first industrial facility in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) dedicated exclusively to producing baby food purees. The company will allocate total investments of approximately 150 million dirhams to develop the facility, which will contribute to enhancing local manufacturing capabilities in the food sector and meeting the growing regional demand for locally produced infant nutrition products. As the 10,000-square-meter facility reaches full operational capacity, it is expected to achieve a production capacity of up to 90 million units annually of baby food products, including fruit and vegetable purees, as well as protein-rich baby foods made from meat and fish. The facility will rely on fresh ingredients from fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish for its products, which will be packaged and marketed in flexible pouches and glass jars.
