The telecommunications and digital services company «du», in collaboration with the global firm «Ericsson», announced the successful implementation of a «Proof of Concept» trial for deploying standalone fifth-generation (5G) network technology using extended-band millimeter waves in several residential areas across the United Arab Emirates. Fahd Al Hasawi, CEO of «du», stated: «We are focused on developing fixed wireless access services, enhancing the UAE's global leadership in 5G technologies. This trial enables us to explore ways to leverage advanced technologies to improve service quality, innovate new offerings, and strengthen our role in developing digital infrastructure».
