
The global organization for green economy announced yesterday its support for 11 African nations as part of the initiative to achieve carbon neutrality. This was stated during the speech by the president of the global organization for green economy, Said Mohamed Alteir, at the palace of scientists in Baku with the participation of the Secretary-General of the Organization of United Nations and local leaders in Africa, Jana-Piera Mbasi.
In his speech, Alteir emphasized the urgency of combating climate change, noting: "Today we are not just launching the initiative but also announcing the start of a path that will allow us to shape a new approach to overcoming the climate crisis in the nations across the African continent."
He also added that the cooperation between the Global Organization for Green Economy and the Organization of United Nations and local governments in Africa is aimed at reshaping African nations in terms of climate-resilient development and creating a roadmap for carbon neutrality.
The global organization for green economy signed a memorandum on cooperation with the government of the Republic of Palau during the 29th session of the climate conference, reaffirming its commitment to promoting green economy and supporting international climate initiatives.
The memorandum was signed by President of the Republic of Palau, Surangel Whipps Jr. and the president of the global organization for green economy, Said Mohamed Alteir, with the aim of promoting low-carbon solutions and protecting natural resources, particularly focusing on the protection of oceans, which plays an important role for Palau as one of the leading developing island nations. Within this cooperation, the global organization for green economy and Palau strive to develop recommendations for sustainable development, considering national and regional objectives, which should ultimately lead to an effective investment in sustainable development at the global level.
