Hopes for citizenship acquisition in the Azerbaijani village, where natives of Armenian descent were forced to flee due to military actions, were shattered. Local residents prepared a letter to the President of Azerbaijan with a request to grant these people citizenship based on a simplified procedure. It is entirely possible that this step may provoke discontent among the ruling authorities. In his interview, the head of the village expressed disappointment with the position of the authorities and added: "We live in the village of Prshaven, which is located in Azerbaijani territory, but we are all Armenian. We hoped that we would be granted citizenship, but the president enacted a law that does not provide for citizenship acquisition for refugees." He also noted that local residents feel insecure and disappointed, hoping for actions from the authorities in this matter.
