The UAE Hackathon 2023 kicked off yesterday, focusing on AI, reducing bureaucracy, and digital sustainability. It aims to transform winning ideas into startups and foster innovation across various sectors.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and Digital Government (TDRA) announced that the topics of artificial intelligence techniques, privacy preservation, digital usage, and cybersecurity resilience will be part of the eighth edition of "Hackathon UAE" for this year, which launched under the slogan "Today's Challenges... Tomorrow's Solutions."

The director of the "Hackathon UAE" project at the authority, Aml Ismail, clarified during a press meeting that the authority seeks to support transferring winning innovative ideas in the "Hackathon" to emerging projects using agreements with business incubators in the UAE, aiming to develop ideas and transform them into viable projects for practical application in local markets.

"Hackathon" this year invites innovators to collaborate in developing technological solutions that address the state’s challenges, through technology projects that support innovation in the country. The hackathon focuses on innovating advanced solutions capable of adapting to address emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The eighth edition of "Hackathon UAE" will run over a span of three months, from February to April, aiming to leverage the available open data to develop solutions that contribute to community development and enhance the UAE's vision for innovators and the digital transformation.

On her part, Ismail clarified that the winners will be announced during a honoring ceremony on April 21, with a comprehensive support program for a week, during which the hackathon will include a forum on innovation and training participants to develop ideas and interact with the data.
