The Emirates Publishers Association held its annual general meeting, discussing the annual report and budget while electing a new board for 2025-2027, including Amira Ali Boudkira as President.

During the annual general meeting, which is the largest gathering of publishers in the UAE, members of the board and the executive office of the association were present, as well as members of the publishing association, experts, and decision-makers in the publishing sector.

At the meeting, the annual report was discussed, the budget was approved, plans for the future were considered, and the most significant achievements from the past year were highlighted.

Within the framework of the discussion, the selection of new board members for the term 2025-2027 was also conducted. Nine candidates competed for five positions, and as a result of the voting, Emirati writer and publisher Amira Ali Bukdra was elected as the chairperson of the board. Present at the meeting were also distributed positions: Abdullakh Sharfan was elected as the vice-chairperson of the association, Fatima Al Khateeb became the secretary and board member, Mohammid Ben Hatem - board member, and Hamda Al Blushi - treasurer and board member.

Also present at the meeting were representatives from the Ministry of Social Development, where the main achievements for 2024 were presented, including specialized training, participation in local and international book fairs, as well as sessions on the sale and acquisition of copyright and translations with international publishers.

Amira Bukdra expressed deep gratitude to the association members for their trust and support, emphasizing the importance of development based on previous achievements for strengthening the positions of Emirati publishers both locally and internationally.

The executive director of the publishing association in the UAE, Rashid Al Kous, confirmed the association's commitment to fulfilling its mission of supporting and developing the field of publishing in the UAE and raising the level of this sector, reflecting the richness of national culture.
