The director of the Cultural Creative Center in Emirates, Abdulla Al-Buaisab, welcomed the participants of the virtual event, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between the Jumaa Al-Majid Center and the Ministry of Culture in organizing joint activities.
Sheikh Abdulla Al-Mutairi posed several questions to the audience, including: is a home library a necessity or simply an element of beauty; how to start creating a home library; steps for its organization, including developing a plan with family members, identifying the target audience, familiarizing with cultural diversity, visiting libraries and book fairs to select suitable publications, designating a convenient space for the library at home, and organizing activities to stimulate children towards reading.
Sheikh Abdulla Al-Mutairi discussed the impact of a home library on shaping the identity of family members, emphasized the role of libraries in strengthening family relationships, instilling values in children in a healthy environment, and also enhancing their language and expressive skills. The lecture concluded with reminders of common mistakes in organizing home libraries and reading.
