The government of the United Arab Emirates announced the holiday schedule for the Eid al-Fitr holiday for employees in the public sector across the country. According to the information from the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), the leave starts from the 1st of Shawwal and ends on the 3rd of Shawwal 1446 in the Hijri calendar.

Although the exact date is not yet confirmed, the first day of Shawwal is expected to be either March 30 or 31 depending on the sighting of the moon, which is on March 29. This will determine whether Ramadan will last 29 or 30 days. If the holy month of Ramadan lasts for 30 days, the 30th day will be included in the leave, making it a four-day holiday. The official start of the working week is noted to be the 4th of Shawwal.

"Eid al-Fitr is a significant Islamic holiday marking the end of Ramadan," the statement said.
