The National Archive and Library, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, announced the launch of the 16th edition of the Young Historian Award for the 2025‑2026 academic year. This event is part of efforts to increase historical literacy among students. The organizers highlighted the importance of preserving the UAE’s cultural heritage.
The award aims to raise student awareness of the country’s history, its material and spiritual heritage, and the values passed down through generations. Participants will be rewarded for research works carried out with a scientifically sound methodology and in high-quality Arabic. This fosters critical thinking and academic competence.
The competition is open to all middle‑school students who wish to demonstrate their analytical and research skills. Winners will receive prizes and have their works published in national outlets. Partners hope the contest will serve as an inspiring example for future historians.
