UAE National Orchestra Joins International Federation of Performing Arts

In a strategic step reflecting the growing status of the UAE on the world cultural stage, the UAE National Orchestra has announced its joining of the International Federation of Performing Arts, confirming its commitment to building sustainable bridges of dialogue and cooperation with leading international artistic institutions. This joining comes after the UAE National Orchestra's participation in the Beijing Forum for Symphonic Music, where Sheikha Aliya bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Director General of the UAE National Orchestra, was invited to deliver a keynote speech. During her speech, she reviewed the inception of the UAE National Orchestra, which draws its authenticity from the UAE's musical heritage, and the diversity of its musical programs, reflecting the country's ambition to build a contemporary musical voice. The invitation and the wide interaction with Sheikha Aliya's speech reflected a growing international interest in the UAE National Orchestra project. This joining allows the UAE National Orchestra to build cultural and artistic bridges with the system of the International Federation of Performing Arts, which includes major performing arts institutions from over 22 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. The federation provides a global platform for communication, exchange of expertise, and enhancement of cooperation, which helps launch joint artistic initiatives that bring together the diversity of cultures and creative traditions within one framework. This membership contributes to the UAE National Orchestra's vision of building sustainable cultural partnerships and relationships worldwide and elevating the identity of the UAE to the highest international levels, based on an authentic national voice that reflects the country's identity, ambitions, and high values. Sheikha Aliya bint Khalid Al Qasimi stated: "The UAE National Orchestra's joining of the International Federation of Performing Arts is a fundamental step in building its international presence, which was the essence of participating in the Beijing Forum, where through active and in-depth dialogues with our global partners, we showcased the UAE's efforts and their unique methodology in building cultural institutions." She expressed her happiness with joining the federation, which constitutes a platform based on cooperation, exchange of expertise, and cultural dialogue, indicating that it is the beginning of a broader exchange based on joint work that links musical traditions and ambitious ideas. The International Federation of Performing Arts was established in 2020 with an initiative from the China National Centre for the Performing Arts. The federation, which currently includes 34 institutions from around the world, aims to provide a global platform that allows performing arts pioneers to cooperate, support co-production projects, participate in artistic tours and digital initiatives, and develop talent. The UAE National Orchestra's joining marks a significant milestone in its international journey, laying a solid foundation for creative partnerships and sustainable cultural cooperation relationships.
