UAE Increases Humanitarian Aid to Gaza Amid Crisis

The United Arab Emirates has intensified its humanitarian support in Gaza by sending five aid convoys into the region this week via the Rafah Border Crossing after the recent ceasefire. These convoys, under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, consist of 100 trucks loaded with more than 1,442 tonnes of crucial aid items, including food supplies, shelter tents, relief packages, and other essentials.

The UAE's humanitarian team based in Al Arish, Egypt, is actively supervising the process of loading, transportation, and distribution of aid to guarantee its delivery to the most vulnerable population in Gaza. So far, the UAE has dispatched a total of 160 convoys carrying around 31,026 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza in response to the hardships faced by Palestinians.

Moreover, the UAE has unveiled a project to promptly restore sewage networks in Gaza's Khan Yunis Municipality to tackle the failing infrastructure and the environmental emergency. This initiative, part of the UAE's wider relief endeavors, seeks to enhance living conditions and ensure critical services for the residents.

In reference to the humanitarian efforts for Gaza, an official statement emphasized, "The UAE is committed to supporting the people of Gaza during these difficult times and will continue to provide essential assistance for those in need."
