
A visit by a delegation from the UAE, headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Medical and Life Sciences, Dr. Maha Barkat, to the Great Ormond Street children's hospital in London, where children from the UAE receiving medical assistance are located, took place in honor of the arrival of the month of Ramadan. Dr. Barkat presented gifts to the children, with the aim of bringing joy to them and their families during the sacred month.
In turn, Dr. Maha Barkat expressed hope that all children will enjoy better health and a prosperous future, wishing for quicker recovery for patients receiving medical support under the supervision of clinic experts. She also noted the plight of children in the fight against rare diseases.
This visit symbolizes the strong relations between the UAE and the Great Ormond Street clinic, established in 2014 thanks to a generous donation from Her Highness Sheikh Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Family Development with a total of 60 million sterling pounds for the establishment of the Zayed Center for rare childhood diseases in London.
