Abdul Jalil Maashou confirms the importance of Ramadan training for handball players

Abdeljalil Maashu, a player of the national team of Algeria in handball, performing for the club "Al-Wasl", emphasized the importance of gradual distribution of physical load for handball players during the holy month of Ramadan. According to Maashu, the period before and after iftar is ideally suited for athletes in general and specifically for handball players to spend the time on light and varied training sessions. These can be recovery exercises, restoring physical activity after a long fast, or tactical games for the team, preventing the overload of the organization.

According to Maashu, the distribution of physical loads between training sessions before and after iftar is a healthy approach for handball players during the holy month, since time spent on training before iftar helps reduce the number of main evening training sessions. He also noted that athletes in general can use this time for light jogging, cycling, and other varied activities. Nevertheless, competitive teams of sports are primarily subject to programming, corresponding to the training plan of trainers.

Regarding the preferred diet for handball players, Maashu pointed out that avoiding junk foods while fasting and consuming light, nutritious products such as dates, yogurt, and salads helps athletes avoid feeling sluggish and provides enough energy for evening training sessions or matches during Ramadan.

Maashu also emphasized the importance that the federation assigns to scheduling matches during the holy month. He noted that the Handball Federation takes into account the absence of matches in the first week of Ramadan, so athletes can normally adapt.

Abdeljalil Maashu, who is one of the leading handball players, was recognized as the best scorer in the league. He began his career in the youth teams "Al-Wasl", and then played for the clubs "Diba Al-Hisn" and "An-Nasr", before returning to "Al-Wasl" at the beginning of the current season after four seasons playing for other clubs.
