In a statement from the authority via official channels, it was clarified that participation in any requests through phone calls is confirmed, and that official agencies and companies do not request this information through phone.
In case users feel suspicious or wary in any call or message, even if it includes a request for approval from the application itself, users should immediately stop any transactions and verify the legitimacy of the contacted party through official channels.
Here, the authority has prevented the increase in cases of account hacking and fraud for users, where personal information is used for fraudulent attempts and theft of funds. It advised against sharing personal data with any entity, highlighting the necessity of maintaining the confidentiality of personal information.
The authority stressed the dissemination of videos warning against scams and fraud through social media, indicating the resurgence of fraudulent methods specifically in digital transactions for the purposes of fraud and theft of funds. The Telecommunications and Digital Governance Authority had previously issued warnings regarding fraudulent messages, urging to avoid clicking on suspicious links to prevent account hacking and theft of sensitive information.
