Calendar phishing is becoming more common in corporations of Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as it specifically targets prevailing workflows in the regional business environment. «Kaspersky» advises companies to conduct regular training courses on phishing awareness, such as attack simulation workshops, to teach employees how to verify suspicious calendar invitations. A new review by «Kaspersky» revealed that cybercriminals have revived and developed some old phishing methods to target individuals and organizations. This includes cyberattacks through calendar applications, voice phishing (vishing), and sophisticated techniques to bypass multi-factor authentication (MFA) systems.
