The United Arab Emirates warned international leaders about the consequences of regional provocative attacks on global health, the environment, and food systems. Speaking at the One Health Global Summit in Lyon, UAE Health Minister Ahmed Al-Saigh condemned the illegal and unjustified attacks by Iran, which have caused loss of life, damage to vital civilian infrastructure, and environmental harm. He emphasized that human, animal, and environmental health are inextricably linked, and threats to one system directly and rapidly impact the others. The minister stated that these attacks constitute a war on the health of every nation, consumer, and family, as well as on ecosystems and shared vital resources. Al-Saigh also highlighted the importance of expanding the 'One Health' approach to include environmental risks like air pollution. He reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to a preventive, science-based, and internationally cooperative approach to enhancing global health. On the sidelines of the summit, he held bilateral meetings with delegations from Indonesia, Italy, and the Republic of Korea to explore ways to boost cooperation in health and related sectors.
