The "UAE Stands with Lebanon" national campaign, initiated following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, has delivered a total of 672 tonnes of relief materials to Lebanon since early October 2024. The endeavor has been closely monitored by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE. Additionally, a further 2,000 tonnes of aid were transported via a UAE relief ship recently docked in Beirut.
The UAE has extended its assistance to Syrian individuals repatriating from Lebanon to Syria through various humanitarian institutions and Emirati charitable organizations. This aid underscores the continuing humanitarian legacy instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, embodying values deeply ingrained in the UAE society.
Noteworthy is the UAE’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Lebanese populace through urgent air and sea initiatives. The cumulative UAE humanitarian aid stands at 2,772 tonnes, which includes dispatching 772 tonnes to both Lebanon and Syria.
In leadership roles pertaining to these efforts, Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, as well as Chair of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, have been instrumental. Meanwhile, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations, and Member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, emphasized the leadership's dedication to swiftly address humanitarian requirements and supply crucial relief to the Lebanese populace during these challenging times.
The UAE's dispatching of a fifteenth aircraft carrying 40 tonnes of vital food packages, particularly for children, reaffirms its commitment to ensuring Lebanon's early recovery, regional security, and stability amidst the ongoing crisis.
