UAE Strengthens Air Force with Historic Rafale Deal

The UAE has made a significant move to enhance its military capabilities with the acquisition of 80 Rafale fighter jets from France, valued at €16.6 billion. This deal includes a comprehensive training program to ensure the highest readiness levels among national personnel. The agreement signifies a deep strategic partnership between the UAE and France, modernizing the country's defense systems.

The Ministry of Defense has received the first batch of 80 Rafale fighters, one of the most advanced in the world. This significant step is aimed at strengthening the country's armed forces. In a statement publicly released today, it is indicated that this initiative is part of a "historic agreement" concluded with Dassault Aviation from France. This underlines the deep strategic partnership between the UAE and France.

Major Shamsi, commander of the UAE Air Force, emphasized that the Rafale has cemented itself as an effective aircraft in numerous military operations around the world. He added that the acquisition of these fighters is part of a broader plan to modernize the country's combat capabilities to counter evolving regional and global security threats.

This contract for the purchase of Rafales is valued at €16.6 billion and is one of the most significant defense agreements between the UAE and France. Within the framework of the deal, 80 advanced fighters will be produced, equipped with advanced technologies of the equipment.

"Our strategy focuses on acquiring the most advanced weaponry and systems that correlate with the changing nature of modern warfare and technological advancements, enhancing the overall security of our national defense system," Shamsi noted. "Rafales are characterized by technologies that allow them to perform multiple tasks, such as reconnaissance and destruction of land and maritime targets with high precision, making them a valuable addition to the UAE Air Force.

"The agreement also provides for an extensive training program for pilots and technicians, ensuring the highest level of readiness among national personnel," added Shamsi. "Our goal is to strengthen the advanced systems that correspond to the development of modern military technology and technological achievements, which enhances the overall effectiveness of our national defense actions."

The Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Mohammed al-Mazrouei, emphasized that with direct support and guidance from President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the armed forces have undergone significant changes, making them one of the most capable and ready armies in the region and beyond.
