MBRSG Partners with UNDP for Digital Transformation

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government has signed an MoU with UNDP to enhance capacity building and digital governance in the Arab world, focusing on AI and public policy development.


The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) has entered into a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to strengthen collaboration on capacity building and research studies related to digital transformation, AI governance, and innovative public policy development in the Arab world. The partnership underscores MBRSG's role as a respected academic institution specializing in policy research and government leadership development. It aims to support government innovation, data-driven policymaking, and regional cooperation in fields like digital governance, artificial intelligence, and advanced technology.

Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States, expressed the importance of collaboration with MBRSG, emphasizing the institution's support for government innovation, knowledge-based policymaking, and capacity building in the Arab region. The initiative aligns with the UAE's digital vision and sustainable development goals, showcasing MBRSG's dedication to training government leaders, establishing cutting-edge digital policies, driving economic growth, and attracting global talent.

The MoU, signed during the World Governments Summit 2025, outlines plans for a joint platform focusing on research and capacity building through accredited training programs that emphasize digital and AI skills for policymakers. The goal is to equip Arab governments with the necessary expertise and tools to address the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

The partnership sets out to enhance global cooperation on AI and digital transformation, build capacities in these areas, and support the development of policies and innovations related to trade, finance, technology, and sustainable economic strategies. Key areas of focus include capacity building, research, digital governance, AI policies, AI ethics evaluation frameworks, sustainability impact assessments, and governance frameworks promoting ethical AI adoption.

Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, MBRSG's Executive President, highlighted that the collaboration reflects the institution's commitment to embracing future trends that advance development and good governance in the region. The agreement strives to advance AI governance, ensuring sustainable digital transformation and creating digitally advanced governments capable of addressing global challenges and navigating the future effectively.
