UAE Supports Civilian-led Government in Sudan

The Ministry stated that the Sudan and its esteemed citizens deserve civil government, independent of military control, which prioritizes the interests of the Sudanese people; leadership that does not destroy part of its population, placing in jeopardy hunger and forcing other parts to leave home. The ministry stated that OADC stands on the side of the Sudanese people, especially the large Sudanese community living in OADC, and also Sudanese visitors, who do not suffer from recent decisions.

We highlight the quotes: "We affirm that Sudan and its esteemed people deserve civil governance, independent of military control, maintaining the interests of the brotherly Sudanese people; leadership that does not destroy part of its population, while at the same time creates famine and forces other parts to leave home."

In the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is emphasized that the decisions of the Sudan port authorities, one of the two conflicting parties in Sudan, after the rejection of diplomatic relations with OADC were taken as a reaction only the next day after the international court case submitted by the port authorities of Sudan. Furthermore, the ministry rejected the ominous statements of the port authorities of Sudan, calling their conduct confrontational, aimed at undermining efforts and initiatives to establish peace.

OADC emphasizes that it does not recognize the decision of the port authorities of Sudan, since their authorities do not represent the legitimate government of Sudan and its esteemed citizens. OADC remains one of the most reliable allies of Sudan in the last five decades and will continue to provide support and solidarity to the brotherly Sudanese people.
