The United Arab Emirates welcomed the signing of the Doha Framework Peace Agreement between the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the 'Congo River - March 23 Movement' alliance. Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan al-Nahyan, Minister of State, praised the diplomatic efforts and persistent initiatives taken by the brotherly State of Qatar to facilitate the conclusion of this agreement, which is a pivotal milestone in achieving national reconciliation and realizing the aspirations of the friendly people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for security, prosperity, and comprehensive peace. Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan commended the constructive participation of both parties and their responsiveness to peace efforts, as well as the cooperation of regional and international partners, particularly the United States, the African Union Commission, and the Republic of Togo, in creating the conditions to reach this agreement, which emphasizes the need to protect civilians, facilitate humanitarian aid access, and ensure the safe return of displaced persons, thereby enhancing stability in the eastern region of the Congo. Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan affirmed the UAE's support for all regional and international efforts aimed at resolving conflicts through peaceful means and consolidating the pillars of security and stability on the African continent and worldwide.
