During the procedural session of the Fourth Legislative Assembly, which took place today, on Saturday, at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt, Muhammad Ahmad Al-Yamaha was elected President of the Parliament of Arab member states of the Federal National Council (FNC).
Representing the ALA, the Parliament of Arab states previously managed the Parliamentary Subdivision of the FNC, which has twice - from 2012 to 2016 - held the position of President of the Parliament of Arab states. This attests to the value of the effective role of the parliamentary diplomacy of the ALA and its contribution to the activities of the Parliament of Arab states since its establishment.
Muhammad Ahmad Al-Yamaha expressed gratitude for the significant support provided by the leadership of the ALA, led by His Excellency Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Excellency Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and ruler of Dubai, and also His Excellency Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, who enabled the emirates to hold leading positions within the frameworks of Arab, regional, and international organizations.
Furthermore, members of the Parliamentary subdivision of the FNC chaired committees on financial and economic issues, as well as on social, educational, cultural, women's, and youth issues.
