The 24th Annual International Polo Championship of the UAE was postponed to January 18-29, 2023. As reported, the decision to postpone was made due to COVID-19 and restrictions on international travel. This year, the tournament was supposed to take place in Dubai in December of the current year. According to the organizers, they are confident that postponing the date will allow them to hold the tournament at a high level and safely for all participants.
One of the main changes that will be introduced during the tournament is the relocation of the venue from Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club to the territory of Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club. Representatives adopted this decision as part of the strategy for developing tournaments in the UAE. It is also expected that the tournament translation will be organized at a high level, attracting attention from polo lovers from all over the world.
All participants and spectators invited to the tournament will also be restricted in movements and will comply with all necessary safety protocols. The organizers expressed hope for understanding from all participants and support for important decisions for them. They emphasized that everyone should remain safe and follow the instructions of authorities concerning the pandemic.
"We will carefully monitor the development of events and adopt all necessary measures to ensure the safety of participants and spectators. We hope for understanding and support from everyone, and we are confident that we will meet at the tournament in January to promote the high level of polo in our country," the organizers noted.
